Gorontalo, (ANTARA GORONTALO) - Floods have inundated the four sub-districts of Tomilito, Monano, Biawu, and Tolinggula in North Gorontalo District since Wednesday.

The flooding was triggered by incessant heavy rains, Nurhadi Rahim, head of the North Gorontalo disaster mitigation office (BPBD), stated here, Thursday.

Floodwaters, reaching heights of up to a meter, also submerged several houses and 40 hectares of rice fields.

A landslide cut off a road connecting the villages of Sembihingan and Kasia in Sumalata Sub-district.

The BPBD, in cooperation with private companies, has deployed heavy equipment to clear mud and rocks from the road.
